Wellington Phoenix Wins!

Man I was so close to flying to Wellington for this game,
but in the end I didn't, too many bills to be paid, but well
done to all those who went to the game.

I was really concerned at the end of the first half, at 1-1,
it seems to me that a Ricki Herbert coached side will
take an early lead and then get way too defensive and
go to lose, and when the Heart equalized I thought the
same thing is going to happen.

Thankfully it didn't, a brilliant second half, full of attacking
football, saw the Phoenix win 3-1.

Hats off to the Yellow Fever people, the loudest bunch
of supporters a team could hope to have.

Can they go all the way and be the second New Zealand
team to win an Australian championship behind Basketball's
Breakers?

Time will tell, in the meantime, enjoy the ride.

Judging by Poll figures at this blog. M*A*S*H even
though it finished its run 20 years ago is still the most
beloved show in History.

How timeless huh, a show done in the 70's to early 80's
about a war in the 50's.

Shows what great writing and a great cast can do.

Well done to all those that bought shares in
Crafar Farms, (I wish I was one of them) With
the Government rightfully approving the sale to
a Chinese company, many Kiwis are now better
off, shame on those who tried to stop this, shame
on those people who wanted a cheaper deal for
them at the expensive of the small kiwi shareholders
who invested their money.

I remembered of the racist hate that Helen Clarke
poured out to the NZ public so she could stop
the sale of Auckland International Airport, costing
ten thousand kiwis a ton of money.

Thankfully the National government didn't stop this
sale, unlike the Labour government with the airport.

A word to those who scream out "It belongs to the people,
it belong to me"

No it fuckin doesn't it belongs to the kiwis who took their
time and money, not some piece of crap, who have
never taken the risk to make things better, but would
stand on the sidelines, telling people who they can or cannot sell
too.

Well done to the small shareholders, enjoy your rewards.

GARTH BROOKS WINS COURT CASE

BREAKING NEWS: A jury has ordered Integris
to pay back $500 Thousand to Garth Brooks for
failing to name a wing at their hospital after the
country superstar's late mother.

The Jury now has to decided on Punitive damages, the
Jury said that the Hospital acted with Fraud and intentional
malice and disregard for others.

Here's hoping this sends a strong message to Integris, that
in the future they will treat people and with the respect they
deserve.

Well done to Garth Brooks and his family.

Update. (It would appear the fraud is a big element in
this case and the Jury has decided the Hospital had
no intention of building another wing for Woman's Health
and naming it after Garth Brook's mother)

Update2: (A further $500 Thousand has been awarded
to Garth Brooks in punitive damages.)

Here's hoping it a lesson to all Hospitals around the world, if you
receive a large donation for something as important
as a Woman's Health Centre, make sure you build
it, its the right thing to do.

The Office: "Pool Party" Review 8:12

The Office has blown it's big chance, this could've been
a defining moment in the show, but instead the writers
of Pool Party, got cold feet and didn't go there.

This episode was about Robert California throwing
a pool party at his house which is about to be sold,
and Erin trying to make Andy Jealous with the help
of Dwight.

Highlights had to be, Dwight and Stanley, getting one
up on Jim, who thought he was pranking Dwight with
his meatball stunt, he in fact was feeding them.

Other highlight had to be as always Robert California
asking Jim why he laughed at his pain.

The episode might of had a moment, up
their with Rader telling the surgeons that
Henry Blake's coptor has gone down.

During one scene with with Erin on Dwight's
shoulders in the pool, you see Dwight collaspe
into the pool, you hear an inaudible talk from
someone at the pool deck, then silence as
you see Dwight floating into the water, it
then fades to black and a commercial.

When they come back, not only is Dwight alive
and well, but its like nothing has happened, why
they put in that true moment of terror and then
not do anything with it is beyond me.

The other Dwight moments were strange, kicking
Erin into the Pool, (not in a comic way, but in a cruel
sociopathic way) just seemed wrong, and then a moment
of kindness calling Andy an idiot, for not seeing that
Erin still loves him.

All in all, a strange episode that could've gone down
in TV history, yet the writers got cold feet.

PS: Why did they add the scene of a Jim being a
drunk driver.

6.5/10, but it might of been 10/10 if the writers
had courage.

Occupy our cellphones?

Not sure about the occupy protestors in other parts
of the world, but the ones in New Zealand, are
supposedly against capitalism in a big big way.

The hatred they have for this ideology is not
matched anywhere in the world, the dozen
or so protestors were joined by John Minto today
as the Auckland city council told them they can
stay but they cant set up camp and they had to
stop harassing members of the public.

Well when the police came in, these anti west and
anti capitalism protestors, pulled out their blackberry's
their Iphones, their cell phones, their ipads, their androids and all
matter of devices, and started ringing, texting.filming, bluetoothing
logging on to the web to denounce, well material things
and capitalism.

I don't think the reporter had the heart to point out
the irony.

Someone needs to though.

Made the mistake of going to the New Zealand website,
the standard, this site which is extreme left is full of the
most bigoted/racist hate speech the internet has ever
seen.

Why did I go to this site, well I wanted to have my say,
and I wanted to say its wrong to be racist and bigoted,
but they think its okay to be racist against the west.

So I will never go to that site again.

Good riddance to them.

Garth Brooks Emotional Court Appearance

Gotta feel for Garth Brooks at the moment, to donate
money to a Hospital thinking they were going to name
awing after your mother who has passed on, only to
find that they have taken the money, but didn't name
the wing after her, must be gutting.

What can one say, it would appear the good nature
of Garth Brooks has been taken advantage of, this
man has done a ton of charity work, he is always
hands on, his recent work in rebuilding homes
in Haiti was amazing, he certainly doesn't just
lend his name to causes, he does the work.

Fans have been outside the courthouse, I
kinda think they should let him go through
this without having to be on, though.

So it sad when all this happens, let hope the
court decides in Garth's favour.

Modern Family Review: "Little Bo Beep" 3:13

Once again Modern Family has had a ten out ten
episode, with Little Bo Beep.

The episode revolved about Claire's election debate,
Jay's dog jumping into the swimming pool, and Lilly
dropping the F bomb.

All the talk before this episode was by the nut jobs at
the parent television council and the virgin mormon
McKay Hatch who wanted the episode banned because
its a form of child abuse if a child days the F word according
to Hatch.

Of course Hatch's real problem and the problem with
those who want it ban lies with thier issue of showing
a Gay couple to be loving, amazing parents.

Lets hope no one will ever listen to those wackos
again.

The episode itself had so many highlights, Jay
giving the blanket to his dog not his wife, Lilly's
cursing and laughing at the wedding, but the
show's best moment came during the debate,
when Phil so totally out of his depth. tried to
help his wife, but only made it worse by
giving his version of the Valentine day
incident.

It also showed a connection with Alex and
Claire, which was sweet, and the different
reaction Mitch and Cam gave to Lily's
swearing.

One of the best episodes of a perfect
season.

BTW the writers got Lily to say Fudge and
they beep it out.

Line of the night goes to Cam commenting on
her dress that lights up...

"Ships at sea wouldn't miss Lily"

McKay Hatch, the Parents Television Council and
the right wing groups should be embarrassed by
their over reaction, and must think twice before they
spout their vile.

Modern Family is the best family show on air at the
moment, and nothing the haters say can change that.

Let Lily Speak "The F Word"

McKay Hatch is a bigot. He is the idiot who started
the no cussing club and wants Modern family pulled
from Television, because of an episode that has Lily
drop the F Bomb. Lily is the two year old daughter of
loving gay couple Mitch and Cam.

The episode airs tonight, and revolves around Lily
saying the word, and Mitch and Cam's reaction to it.

In taping the show, the child actually said Fudge, and the
word is beeped out and pixilated.

Lets be honest, McKay Hatch hates swearing,
but his real problem is his bigotry.
Like all these so called parent groups, he hates
Modern family because it shows a loving Gay
couple as great parents.

People like him should not be listen to.
This homophobic bullshit should never be
listen to.

Here's hoping tonight's episode will be the
funniest one yet, from the greatest show
currently on television, Modern Family!!!

Hmmm CupCakes

Hmmm Cupcakes.

Over at the always interesting blog,
The Hand Mirror, there is a post
about cupcakes, and I think I read
a line about it being a food of privilege.

My own personal opinion is that they
are cupcakes, doesn't matter what side
of the fence you sit on, if you sit on a fence
at all.

Cupcakes are cupcakes, they are yummy and
sweet and taste good, and are perfect for almost
any occasion.

By eating a cupcake you aren't making a
political point, you aren't making a
statement, your having a yummy treat, that's
it, no more and no less.

So if you make your own, or buy your own,
have one without shame, because you anit
hurting anyone.

Modern Family Wins Golden Globe

Well done to Modern family for winning the Golden
Globe for best Comedy, they deserve it.

At a night where the host, Ricky Gervais shined, Modern
Family once again proved they are the best comedy on
air at the moment.

Here's hoping that continuation of the Hollywood Foreign
Press Association sucking up to the non actor George
Clooney, doesn't take away from the brillant achievement
of Modern Family or the perfect host Ricky Gervais.

If this third season or Modern Family is anything to go
by, they are going to need a bigger trophy cabinet.

I had written it on a forum and decided to copy and
paste it here, to same time writing it again, didn't

Lunch at Nice Cafe, But...

Okay then I am not one of these people who glare at
other people's kids in public when they are making
a disturbance, in fact I hate those people who
do that, having got younger relatives who
get a bit crazy (like all kids) I wont judge
someone else kids if they are misbehaving.

In saying that their has to be a limit, and
there has to be a time when a parent/caregiver
starts to take control. I think kids should be able
to be kids in public, even have meltdowns, or just
generally act stupid.

Its the parents reaction that gets to me.
For example I was in this cafe, having a quiet
meal, (the cafe was a normal run of the mill
cafe, not way over the top posh, but it was nice) A
mother had a couple of children there, the oldest was
probably nine the youngest around
six or seven.

Well the kids started running around, the youngest
had a toy car which he liked to bang on other
peoples tables, while the oldest, screamed "lets
play tag" they were hiding behind myself and
other people at this cafe, behind the chairs etc
etc, laughing, bumping into people, well the
cafe manager came out and gave them a look
that said "dont do that"

Well the mother was beside herself, she stood up
and screamed "Dont have fun kids, remember
dont have fun, your not allowed to laugh or be
happy" then she started cracking up and giving
people dirty looks while still saying "Oh your having
to much fun, the police are going to come now"

The lady she was with was cheering her on.
Like I said, Kids should be allowed to be kids,
but was this too over the top or am I being
grumpy???? The place wasnt fastfood, it was a
nice cafe, not sandwiches but meals.

Brilliant Century by David Warner, BUT...

Yeppers, reel it back in Aussie cricket commentators.

Yes it was a great century, yes it was the fourth fastest,
but some of the commentary last night, and some of the
articles written, would have you thinking that this was the
greatest feat in the history of mankind.

It wasn't.

He scored a fast century against a weak bowling attack,
that's it.

He didn't cure cancer or Aids, he didn't bring world peace,
judging by comments today on the internet, he did though.

For the Aussie commentators to perform like they did
last night was beyond belief, I mean saying "Warner is
showing us that you can score, 300, 400 or 500 runs,
hes changing test cricket, hes a legend, no one has
done what he has done."

BTW hes on 104.

For writers to write, that he's totally in the heads of India,
and knows more about cricket than any other India player and that
the game was won, when he first walked out to bat, because India
knew they were defeated because of the mind games by
Warner, is crazy.

Every shot Warner did, the commentators were gasping with
delight, like no one had ever played a cover drive before.

I personally felt embarrassed for Journalism.

Yes David Warner it was an amazing innings, but did
it change test cricket to score a century against a
weak bowling attack who dont play well away???

Of course it didn't.

Someone needs to tell Tony Greig though.

The Office: "Trivia" Review 8:11

A nice start to the year, not the funniest episode of
the season so far, but it wasn't all about Jim, which
is a good start, in fact Jim had no role to play really.

The plot revolved around the Office going to a trivia
night at a gay bar Oscar goes to, to try and win
a 1000 dollars so they can buy paper to meet,
Robert California's benchmark.

Of course they split up the teams, in the so called
smart team their is Jim, Andy, Darryl Ryan, the throw away
team was Creed, Stanley, Phyllis and Pam replacement
and the dumb team made up of Erin, Kevin, Meredith and
Kelly. Oscar was with his friends on a separate team.

Of course it was Kevin who won it for his team!!! A nice
surprise.

The side story was Robert California not wanting to
in interview Dwight for a management position, so
Gabe has to do the interview, that story line didn't
work.

A few good one liners, not a classic episode, but
not a bad one, all in all, a good solid effort.

Seven out of ten.

Modern Family Review: "Egg Drop" 3:12

Best Episode of the season so far, and another ten out
of ten. What can one say.

I never saw it coming, I had no idea that Manny and Luke
were playing Jay and Claire against each other so they
would do their school projects for them, a normal sitcom
wouldn't have had that storyline, and would of just focus
on the main rivalry, but this is what makes Modern Family
so special.

Other highlights had to be Phil shouting into the microphone
during his seminar, when he was suppose to be whispering
into the phone, and of course Cam's reaction to being told
he is not a good singer, was priceless.

The episode worked because each character got to show
a side of their personality, heres hoping they will continue
to do this in latter episodes

As usual a Modern Family episode gets ten out of ten.

Best thing on television.

NFL having it's best season

While the NBA is off to a shaky start,
the NFL is powering ahead with it's
playoffs, Tim Tebow mania is in full
swing, the Packer fans are going
crazy, and this is the most exciting
season for decades.

Who's going to win? Well you cant really tell,
no one knows, that is the beauty of the NFL,
most other sports, you know who's going to
win, but the thing with the NFL you don't,
you have no idea, heck even the Cardinals
made the NFL a few years back.

So on and onwards, with this season.

The playoffs are here, and the world is watching,
thank you America for providing the planet with
great theater.

I know nothing about Tattoo's, no idea
why people will get them, and why they
go through pain to have them. Apparently
it's a personal thing/cultural thing/religious thing/
drunk thing.

Tina Beznec aged 23, says she is doing it for charity
and some extra money for herself, she has started a trade
me auction and will get a tattoo on her ass, and the highest
bidder can decided what the tattoo will be, the bid is up to
$2000.

Who the heck will bid in this? would they get off on it?,
what say the highest bidder wants her to get a Tattoo
of Don Knotts giving a reach around to Tom Bosley?

I'm guessing she will make a mint for chairty and a
bit for herself.

NBA Low scores

Not the greatest way to start a strike infested season,
maybe it is because of the tight schedule, maybe three
games in three days is too much, maybe the defensive
patterns are getting better. but these low scores are
crazy.

There is higher scoring in International basketball at the
moment, and I think there maybe a shift coming up
in tv viewers.

I mean nine points a quater for a team is now a regular.
occurrence, some teams are struggling to get 75 points
a game, its just so frustrating to watch players miss
easy shots, surly this is now a concern to the NBA,
who is going to tune in to see the Heat win 82-61
or the Mavs win 79-64, I mean there was one game
when a team just got six points in a entire quater.

I mean seriously guys, something is wrong here.

Heres hoping they get it sorted out, quick.

guy, he's all that, hes the situation, in 20 or so years since
reality TV took off, with the UK's version of Big Brother,
it's evolved into Mike Sorrentino, 20 years of evolution for

a supermarket worker, hes on all the shows, people
clap like trained circus seals, every time he opens his
mouth, and of course thousands of lines are written
about his ab's, but what has he achieved?

I'm also guessing this guy is no long term financial planner.

So when his looks go, when another TV show about a bunch
of rich Cu*ts acting like Pr*ks take off, Mike Sorrentino will
probably be on some local basic cable station selling vacuum

even been a country more thin-skinned, more

The Australian cricket team feels they have the

When the girl scouts of America made the right choice to
allow a transgender child to join , Taylor was so outraged,
she went straight to youtube and ask people to boycott
the cookies, and she refused to sell the Cookies in protest.

She of course made her video while wearing a Cross (I guess
she thinks that makes her more right, must be watching Fox
News)

Of all the fuckin things to protest about, I can imagine a Cu*t like
Brian Tamaki or the Phelps family protesting, but what is wrong
with society when a 14 year old feels the need to protest
a group because they allow transgender children to join?

We can only be happy in the fact for every girl like Taylor
out there, there is a 1000 who would protest for the
inclusion of everybody.

Well done to them, and Taylor get over yourself, just because
you wear a cross doesn't make you right.

Criminals Don't like getting caught

Criminals sure don't like getting caught, do
they?

The video has gone viral, and the whole world
is looking at these shop lifters with disgust, at
how two human beings can act so unhuman.

The incident took place at a Countdown Supermarket
in Rotorua, New Zealand. two shoplifters got caught, and
then decided to verbally abuse and physically assault the
staff members.

The sad part of the incident was that the two accused
weren't teenagers but adults, a 30 year old and a
50 year old

Thankfully the Police have made the arrests, and the
pair will appear in court. They will IMHO show
no remorse, in fact the opposite, they will probably
abuse the media, they will have a sense of entitlement,
as criminals do, and they probably will get off with
little or no punishment.

I would love the judge to fine them, send them out
to do community service, and I would love them
to say sorry to the people they assaulted, although
you have to have some sort of human dignity to say
sorry to people you have wrong, which seems to
be lacking here, with these two individuals.

Thoughts and wishes go out to the staff at

2012 is shaping up to be a year of chances
in Hollywood. So much money has been poured
into one project, so much hope into another, but
it just might be a movie with little known actors
that steal the show, then again, it could be the
biggest disappointment of 2012.

Basically the movie year for mainstream cinema
shapes up like this....

The Avengers, Hollywood hasn't been Billions on
four movies before this, leading up to last year's
Captain America in what has to be the worst Cameo
in Movie History, with Snakes on a Plane, Samuel
L Jackson, brief appearance at the end, for The
Avengers to just take movie goers by surprise.

More money will be spent on advertising this thing
than ever before, you won't wake up without
knowing what time this thing is playing in the
cinema. No matter how much this sucks, it
will take in at least $250 million.

George Clooney will once again direct himself
as a leading man for the ladies and a nice guy with
a heart, he will tilt his head to one side, and people
will give him a Oscar.

Of Course The Dark Knight will be brilliant, anything
Christopher Nolan puts his mind too is, will it get
near, Inception for pure magic, time will tell.

The big hit though, could be Chronicle, unknown
actors, not a huge budget, SiFi, may actually blow
cinema goers away, the buzz is amazing, but it
will take time to find out if the buzz was just an
excellent viral marketing trick, or justified.

The trailer looks awesome, but this will go either
way, a flop that wont even reach the $50 Million
mark or a smash that will garner $500 Million
world wide.

Or I am hoping from this years movies is that
Sarah Jessica Parker and JLO don't do another
Romantic comedy or that Adam Slander doesn't
do any movie at all.

Time will tell.

Stephen King Review: "11.22.63"

(Spoilers!!!!)

Not a lot of Spoilers, I dont want to give anything
away.

I have just finished Stephen King's new novel
11.22.63

This is Mr King's first book about time travel and
revolves a man going back into time to stop the
Kennedy assassination.

For myself that was just a substory, the real adventure
in the book are once agin the minor characters, "Hoptoad
Harry" "Deke" and of course "Sadie"

These are all people the main character Deke meets along his
way, you see, he just cant go back in time to 1963, he has to go back
to 1958 first, (where's a delorean when you need one)

He meets people on his way and wants to alter their
history too, and of course he wont take care of
Oswald until he is sure he was the lone assassin.

Anyway, if you loved Wireman from his previous
books, you will love Deke, you will also root for
Harry, and Sadie just might as well be the best
female he has ever written.

The book is ten out of ten, lots of substories that
make you forget about the main one.

A must read.

Jacob Oram Eyes Pay Day

There is an news story on the web, by fairfax at
their stuff website, about Jacob Oram.

It states that despite his injuries, he is still eyeing
the Twenty 20 Cricket World Cup, he says his
heart is still in the game.

Maybe some honesty here will be nice, Jacob doesn't
care about the game, and he certainly doesnt care
about the Twenty 20 World Cup, this is an excuse so
New Zealand Cricket will give him a contract, thus making
it easier for him to play in the IPL and earn some large
money for himself over a four/six week period.

Does he think the New Zealand cricket public is that
stupid? Howe can he be that stupid.

Mr Oram, it's the money that you are after and nothing
else, you dont care about the world cup or the Blackcaps,
at least be honest with your intentions.

But with a media like ours, I guess you don't have to be.

Shame on the media, and shame on you Mr Oram.

Modern Family Review: "Lifetime Supply"

Modern Family has once again, done another ten out
of ten episode. Lifetime Supply has Phil worrying about
if he was going to die, as he waited on news from his
doctor, Mitch winning Environmental Lawyer of the year,
and Manny's father paying him a visit.

All these were tied in with Gloria's dream about a black
mouse, and in her country that means something bad
is about to happen.

Highlights of the Episode was a young looking Phil on
a game show from his past, Mitch realizing he was
acting like a 14 year old girl when Alex was agreeing
with him, and Luke's BFF being an 80 year old man, who
had the line of the night "IM 85 years old, death is my
room mate"

So again hats off to Modern Family for a ten out of ten
episode.

Which Way Should I take this Blog?

I Have been blogging for four straight
years, I started in January 2008, this
will be my fifth year of blogging.

I started this blog, because I saw a
hypocrisy in the New Zealand
sporting media, and well basically just
wanted to rant about it.

Over three years of blogging? I have
done posts on Sports/politics/Music/
other bloggers/ hypocrisy/ entertainment
issues/social issues, etc etc etc.

In other words, this blog has gone off
in different directions, I have tried to get
the numbers of traffic to increase to this
blog, (If any blogger says they don't care
about traffic to their blog, they are lying).

It's always remain the same, around 50-100
hits a day.

So where to next? I'm not sure, I guess, while
I like it doing, I will keep doing it, if there is
a case of a Journo being a hypocrite, I will
try and call them up on it, if one of my fav
sporting teams does something great, I will
post about it, I also will do reviews of Modern
Family and The office.

For 2012 I hoping it does go on to better thing,
my writing, spelling and grammer will be the same,
so spelling police, stay at home.

Anyway, here's hoping I mean actually write something
insightful.

1: New Zealand will have it's best Olympics yet, with
some surprises, The Tall Blacks will not only qualify, but
win a Medal, other medal winners will of course be our
rowers, our shot putters, our field hockey players, our
female footballers, and a big upset by young swimmer,
Sophia Batchelor

2: The Warriors win the NRL, it will be well deserved,
and will see them treated as heroes, they will beat Manly
in the final.

3: The Breakers will go back to back in the NBL.

4: Phoenix to make the playoffs , but get soundly beaten.

5: All Whites to have a good year as they build towards the
Confederation cup and the World Cup.

6: South Africa to bring the Blackcaps down to Earth,
but the youngsters to become International stars, Bracewell,
Williams and Boult.

7: NZ Cricket to cause outrage with their contracts by offering
Oram and Mills one, but not Bracewell and Boult.

8: The New Zealand media at the Olympics to embarrass
every Kiwi sports person there and every Kiwi watching, by
asking the International stars and our own New Zealand stars
not questions about their sport, but questions about the All
Blacks and they will also suggest that the All Blacks could
clean up every medal there is.

9: Craig Stanaway, Joesph Romanos, Andrew Saville and
Brendan Telfer to do the above, plus they will add in a
rugby reference to most non rugby stories and they will criticize any
sport story that comes out of America.

10: The Green Bay Packers to win the Superbowl. The
Celtics to win the NBA, The Bruins to win the NHL and
the Braves to win the world series.

Bye Bye 2011.

A year that had earthquakes, had me out scoured, and
having to move, a year that has seen a family member
being in hospital, a year where all sorts of people
called me all sorts of names, just for having an opinion,
a year that I would rather forget except for a nice wee
time in the middle of it.

Here's hoping that 2012 will be a lot better for all
of us.

Sporting Moment of 2011

If the New Zealand Sporting Journalistic community
had any integrity at all, the team pictured would win
the Halberg for sporting team of the year. I doubt if
they will even be nominated though.

The New Zealand men's Basketball team, (aka
the Tall Blacks) did the impossible and they won
The Stankovic Cup, by defeating powerhouse,
Russia. Along the way they beat the powerhouse
of Asian Basketball, China and the top African
team, Angola.

How a little tiny Island Nation did this, is beyond belief,
and is truly historical, this was up their with the Tall
Blacks finishing fourth at the world champs in 2002
and beating Serbia at the Olympics in 2004.

Alas though, the award will go to a team who plays
a minority sport, this because of the power of the
incestuous New Zealand sports media, that sport will win hands
down.

But the Tall Blacks have bigger things on their mind,
a spot at the 2012 Olympics and a further place
in Basketball History.

Here's hoping the New Zealand media will join them
in their quest, but I anit holding my breath.

People who upload Christchurch Earthquake Videos to youtube

Since the September Earthquake in Christchurch, there have
been literally thousands of video uploaded from people to
youtube, they have set webcams to run 24/7 in their homes
to capture the moment a quake strikes or they have captured
the aftershocks on their cellphones.

Some provided a great historical reference to show what people
went through during these horrific quakes, others have a voyeuristic
appeal, others show the wide range of emotions and reactions that
we all have, others make ya feel sick, the teens laughing at the fallen
buildings or the jerk who turned the camera to himself
and laughed and said "Nig**** going die"

They are part of capturing the people of chch, one that got
posted just after the aftershock on the 23rd of December
seems to be posted for the wrong reason.

I will not post a link to it, but it seems he set up his webcam
after the 5.8 and caught the one that was 6.0 80 minutes later.

The video consists of him yelling out with no real fear in his
voice "Holy Sh*t, Holy F**K, F**K, Sh*t, Holy F**K"
and then he looked directly into the camera and screamed
F**K with his hands to his face.

Now I know some people react to fear in this way,
but this was worst acting than Rob Schneider in a
Adam Sandler movie, and IMHO worse than
the videos of the teens making light of the situation.

It seems the poster wanted to have his video go
viral and get on the telly, and he used an aftershock
to do so, heres hoping in 100 years time, youtube somehow
deletes this video and the videos that are left are the
ones with the real reactions to the tragic and awful
year that Christchurch has had.

Time will tell.

Modern Family Review: "Express Christmas"

Well I finally got around to watching the Modern Family
Christmas episode, "Express Christmas".

As usual with this third season it was ten out of ten, it was
funny, it was awkward, it had just the right amount of
sentiment at the end.

What made the episode was the unusual pairings, giving the
actors scenes with people they don't normally act with.

The storyline to the episode was that, the family couldn't be
with any other on Christmas day, so decided to have an
express christmas on the 16th.

Phil was teamed up with Manny to buy the turkey.

Gloria was teamed with Luke to find the an angel in the
attic.

Jay was teamed with Cam to wrap presents.

Haley was teamed with Claire to do shopping.

Mitchell was with Alex to find a tree.

The best pairing was Mitchell and Alex, mainly
because they discover they are so much alike
in personality, it was also kinda sweet that Alex
stood up for her Uncle when she thought he was
a victim of homophobia.

Phil being tasered was some classic physical acting.

In the end it was kinda nice to see Jay having hired a
guy with a snow maker to make it snow for the family and
the hug between Jay and Cam was the right touch to
the show.

Once again Modern family has proved it's the best show
on television at the moment.

Hats off to them!

Boston Celtics will Win the NBA

But it will be the Celtics, a team that is always there,
a team that just plays good old fashion solid Basketball,
a team that works hard, a team that will be consistent

New Zealand Versus Australia

The first of two cricket tests starts against
Australia next week, can the blackcaps finally
beat Australia in a test for the first time in around
17 years. Thats a long wait between drinks.

There will be big issues for New Zealand, Jesse
Ryder and Brendan McCullum's weight problem,
Vettori lack of wickets, and the fact that we might
not have the bowlers to take 20 wickets.

Australia also has their own problems, there will be
five top players not available for this series, and they
still might take us lightly.

I think this is our best chance in a long long time, so
fingers are crossed, if we don't, I think we can safety
say that it m,ay be another 17 years before we can
have a chance.

My Final Election Prediction

Labour Runs Most Ugly Campaign in NZ History

Never in the history of New Zealand politics has
one political party run a campaign so ugly, so dirty
so repulsive that you actually do feel physically ill.

Not even in the 1990's when Labour was
basically being controlled by Marion Hobbs, did
they run so dirty.

I have been in a totally state of shock with how the
media has let them get away with these tactics.

The pamphlets that they have sent out to single mothers
could be considered threatening and I hope after the
election the police will look into them, the heavy
handed Union tactics would make Tony Soprano
blush. The way they have just played on people's
fear about so called asset sales, the way they have
dubbed anyone not voting for Labour as unkiwi,
is beyond sickening.

Twisting the successful Rena cleanup, using the
ChCh earthquake and tragic Pike river accident
in their campaign is just so sad, preying on people's
emotions, attacking John Key and his family, becoming
personal with every interview Goff does, as seen
the Labour Party reach it's low point.

The great David Lange would be ashamed.

Infact any decent human being should be ashamed
of how they have operated in this election.

Here's hoping the public will send them a clear message,
on election day, that the NewZealand public doesn't want
to go down that road.

RIP: NZ Journalism (Election Coverage is Sh*t)

I'm calling it.

November 19th 2011, one week out from our General
Election and the most important day of the year, Journalism
in New Zealand has died.

There have been many low points throughout the year, and thru
the decades for Journalism in this country, but there
has always been hope that it has reached it's low point,
and will bounce back, but now it's died.

What they have done in trying to protect their own,
Bradley White/Ambrose is sickening and goes beyond
anything they have attempted to do before.

To twist what this activist/militant did (Purposely and covertly
trying to tape the Prime Minister) is beyond
being repulsive.

To not only try to defend him, but to try and make the
Prime Minister out to be the bad guy and consistently
24/7 for over a week tell the public that they are just
trying to get to the truth, is a shot in the face to real
news reporters.

The fact that rival outlets are standing
by each other, shows that the New Zealand Journalistic
community have and always will commit Journalistic
rape against the people of New Zealand.

This is it for them, just like with their sporting
counterparts who killed off sporting Journalism
this year, our political reporters have done the same.

Modern Family: "After The Fire" Review

It just gets better and better, I have blogged with
reviews of Modern Family before, and every single
time the show just gets funnier and cleverer and
warmer as it goes on.

Tonight's episode was titled "After the Fire" and
revolved everyone helping out a neighbor family
after their house burns down, that family is not
seen in this episode.

So many one liners tonight, so many visuals scenes,
and once again it's the kids that are stealing the show.

Alex had the line of the episode telling Hayley after she
confronted nerd bullies, who were picking on Luke and
Manny that "You have your fans, I have mine and your
fans will be working for mine someday"

Although Luke Line's "I hope you like taxes" in reply
to Manny wanting to walk to Canada was a classic.

The warmth of the show came from the family getting
together and helping out a neighbour.

The Phil giving Jay a massage, and Jay a massage
had me in tears, and the wires getting crossed was
a nice touch, lets hope that Phil takes up the new
job.

Cam was again funny, although I think the Claire story
line was good but not as strong as the rest of the
episode.

Again ten out of ten for this episode, best episode
of the season so far, and I would say an all time
classic.

Hats off to the entire cast and crew.

Hypocrite's Life Time Achievement Award to the Minto's

John Minto and his wife surly have to get a lifetime
achievement award for being hypocrites.

A bunch of little kids went Halloweening and
went to John Minto and his wife's house.

The sound of disgust in John Minto's wifes voice and
I would go as far to say the cruel nature in the way she
spoke, could of not been played better in a horror
movie.

She told the kids in a chilling voice "You dont have to
knock six times, byeeeeeeee"

If I was one of those kids I would of said something like
"And your husband doesn't have to yell at abuse at
tennis players for six hours"

or

"Yeah because someone annoying you and disturbing your
peace is really really wrong, isnt it?"

I mean they were kids, and because they were
celebrating an American holiday, the Minto's
had to show disgust for it.

As a preadolescent I use to love what Minto
did in fighting apartheid, but then I came to
realize that he couldn't care less about equal
rights or peace, it's his own political viewpoint
extreme socialism and a pure hate for the West
and America that drives him.

Which is why I think they must have a life time
achievement award for being Hypocrites, they
also have a superiority complex, Mrs Minto
sounded like she was in shock and these kids
had done something horribly wrong to her and
her husband, but hey she has the right to disturb
and disrupt anyone she likes.

Mr and Mrs Minto are Hypocrites of the worst kind.
Thus they have earned a life time achievement award.

Heres hoping the little kids got a lot of yummy candy from
other politicians.

Welcome to Tabloid Journalism, Mr Duncan Garner,
you have chosen your path, and now it's all downhill
from here.

This election campaign has been amazing, the left
wing politicians have been making it personal, while
the right wing politicians have been talking policies.

It's been the media though that has a big black eye,
form the covert taping by Bradley Ambrose, formerly
known as Brad White, to TV3's Duncan Garner who
has an opportunity to ask Prime Minister Key some
serious questions on some serious issues, instead
he wanted to know about the tea pot tapes.

Prime Minister Key told him he wont be answering
questions about that, Duncan Garner asked again,
he told him again, he wont be answering questions
about them, Duncan Garner kept repeatedly asking
the questions, every time Prime Minister was polite
in his answer.

Still Duncan Garner kept asking, until Prime Minister
Key had enough and just walked out.

Hats off to Key for this, the public want to know
about the issues, not what's on a recording advice.

In a couple of weeks, John Key will probably still
be Prime Minister, and Duncan Garner well, will
probably be getting offers from E on Line or
the Sun newspaper.

Lets hope he leaves and takes up their offers.

NBA SEASON TO BE CANCELED

That's it, the players have called Stern's bluff and he
wasn't bluffing.

Who the heck was advising these guys, to risk millions
of dollars just to get a few more was crazy, and now
fans are going to be left without an NBA season.

The players are in for a shock, if it wasn't a recession,
they may of gotten public support, but with people
struggling, they will find it hard to give sympathy to
players who wanted to add some cash to their
11-15 million a year salaries.

Heres hoping over the next year they will have time
to think very hard.

If Zac Guildford was a Rugby League Player

TVNZ: Another blackeye for the sport
of Rugby League today as more thuggish
behavior from a code that has it's fair share
of ugly incidents. When will Rugby league
players stop abusing and assaulting people
and should the game be banned in some schools
so the code can finally learn its lesson.

Brendan Telfer: This is animal type behavior
it just doesn't belong, what parent would want
their kid to play that game, throw him in jail,
throw the lot in jail, he's an adult and there
should be no excuse for his behavior. His
contract must be torn up.

TV3: A terrible year for Rugby League has
just got worse, a year that saw its players
getting drunk, smashing up hotel rooms and
assaulting innocent members of the public, now has the
drunken lout Zac Guildford embarrassing
himself and his country and ruined a family's
wedding. Make no mistake its not a problem
with booze he has, it's a problem with acting human,
like all league players he is a disgrace.

This repulsive, disgusting behavior is not acceptable
in this day and age and no excuse can be made, to
blame the booze is just another excuse from the
heads of Rugby League to shift the blame, and

Did Bradley Ambrose covertly tape Prime Minister Key?

It would appear that the Journo who covertly audio
taped Prime Minister Key and John Banks was Bradley
Ambrose according to some Bloggers.

Some may say this is great Journalism, some may say it
belongs in the gutter with the tabloid press.

Here is my problem with Bradley Ambrose, he hasn't
came out and admit what he did, but he hasn't denied it.

Now that would be bad enough, but the herald is now saying
it was a complete accident and the reporter didn't know
that he was secretly recording the Prime Minister.

For me this goes beyond being sinister, to place a device and
record it and then say it was an accident is terrible and a slap
in the face to Journalism.

Several surveillance experts have came out and suggested that
its not cemented in reality that he didn't know he was recording.
In fact there is not one surveillance expert that has come out
and supported the so called anonymous reporter's theory.

My advice to Bradley Ambrose would be to confirm or
deny that it's him.

Martin Devlin on Female Sport

Martin Devlin recently made some
comments on 'Radio Live" about
female sports and female football.

He stated that female goalkeepers
normally dive once the ball is in
the back of the net, he made several
other comments that not only don't
belong in this decade but any decade.

I wish he had of seen a poster I saw of
the great Mia Hamm, it had the words..

"WHEN YOU SAY I PLAY LIKE A
GIRL, I TAKE IT AS A COMPLIMENT"

What Stern has to do

if that is not acceptable, we will just bring in some players

NBA Talks Hit Eight Hours Today

Talks are in their eight hour as of writing this, and
today could be the day, when we are finally told,
that if there is going to be an NBA season or not.

I sincerely hope, if a agreement is not reached in
the next few hours, that the greatest commissioner in
sports, David Stern cancels the season, tells the players,
come back next year and we will talk, and by the way
our new bottom line is 60-40 of Revenue goes to the
Franchises, NBA and Owners.

There isnt a professional sport on the face of the Planet
that has offered their players such a great deal, 50-50
revenue sharing is unheard of, but it doesn't seem to be
enough.

On the other hand Heres hoping the players will take the deal,
and here's hoping the Owners and franchises treat them
like the stars that they are, and not money making machines.

Time well tell.

BYE BYE NBA SEASON

Two weeks ago it seemed that the NBA season would be
saved, and would start in December. Well the players
have double dribbled this one, not accepting the NBA's
deal of 51% of revenue for them.

The players wanted more, but Im afraid for them, David
Stern wont be blackmailed.

If the players don't except a deal by Wednesday USA time,
the offer goes down to 47% and Stern IMHO will cancel the
season and put in a huge salary cap.

So King James and Mr Bryant enjoy playing in Europe,
Australia, Asian, South American and perhaps New Zealand
for the next few months, and start saving those pennies.

Great for International Basketball. Sad for NBA fans.

I have mixed feelings.

Time will tell, in about 24 hours we will know.

Dr Conrad Murray Guilty

Dr Conrad Murray has been found guilty of
involuntary manslaughter.

Now I wasn't part of the jury, so I didn't see all of
the evidence, but Im kinda guessing if the victim wasn't
Michael Jackson, there wouldn't be a trial and there
certainly wouldn't be a bunch of muppets cheering the verdict,
what do they expect?, that the Ghost of Michael Jackson will
come and sing Thriller to them.

The thing that got me, was not the verdict though,
but the fact that the Judge remanded Dr Murray and
didn't give him bail before sentencing because the
Judge thought he would be a threat to public safety.

A threat to public safety?????? Is he kidding me???
Does he think Dr Murray is going to run around
LA with a bottle of propofol in his hand.

Like I said, I'm not sure if the verdict is correct, it
could be, but the lesson I learned from this is, OJ
was damn lucky that he wasn't charged with murdering
people that were famous.

Former caddie for Tiger Woods, kiwi Steve Williams
made a racial and violent slur at an award dinner for
caddies.

Steve's career as a caddie is now over and rightly so.
What the heck was he thinking? How can anyone be
so stupid, and how can anyone in the year 2011 be
a racist?

There might be some debate, on what is racist? but
there can be no doubt saying what he said is racist.

What should happen to him?? Well the PGA will
drop him that's for sure, he wont even get a caddie's
job on the European tour, he will loss sponsorship
for his saloon car driving here in New Zealand.

For his own sake, I hope he saved his pennies, because
he's going find it hard to earn some more, after last night.

Long may he stay out of the public eye.

The Office: "Doomsday" Review

Best episode of the season so far, in fact this may save
The Office, it was that good, I would say one of the
best Office episodes ever.

Doomsday revolved around Dwight inventing
a computer program, that would send out an
email to Robert California if five mistakes are
made in one day.

A side story was Gabe trying to date the new warehouse
worker, with Daryl also thinking he has a chance, it
turns out she doesn't date co workers. Gabe's pathetic
attempt to make her laugh, and Daryl's disappointment
came across as genuine.

The main story line was actually quite sweet, while all
the office was against Dwight's plan, Kevin wanted to
hit him over the head with a frying Pan, Jim's poor
attempt in trying to guess his password, and Kelly's screaming
at him to stop the email being sent out, it was Pam's genuine
kindness that made the episode.

She sent everybody out to Dwight's farm and had faith in
Dwight that he wouldn't sent out the email, because despite
Dwight being Dwight he actually likes his coworkers.

She was right, Dwight's little speech at the end, summed up
his true feelings, that he does care for these people.

The episode was perfect, ten out of ten.

Well done to the Office!!!

Modern Family: "Treehouse" Review

It's very rare for a show to improve each episode, season
after season, but Modern Family is a rare and special
show.

Tonight's episode was called "Treehouse" and centered
around four storylines, Jay and Gloria go dancing, Cam
makes a bet that he can get a woman's number, Phil
build's a tree house for Luke and Julia trying to teach Haley
a lesson, which was by far the weakest story line.

It was the Cam storyline that stole the show, trying to win
a bar bet with Mitch that he can pick up a straight woman
by acting straight had me in stitches. The bet was that the
loser had to do the laundry of the other for a month.

Cam's line "Make the seams straight like me" was the highlight
of the show. Of course the woman knew Cam was gay
all the time, but didn't let on to Mitch which was a sweet
moment.

The other sweet moment on the show came near the end,
when Phil made a new friend, his child like enjoyment in
that, left the viewer with a genuine heartfelt moment.

The Jay and Gloria storyline had it's moments, along with
the tree house being like the stairs, but this was definitely
Cam's episode.

Ten out of ten again.

Can't wait for next week.

Best show on television.

We Shall Be Free

The USA

I love the USA, I love their music and I love their
sport and I love Americans. I think their country has
done more good than harm to Planet Earth.

It's getting increasingly tiresome to having to explain to
people here in New Zealand why I like America.

I shouldn't have to offer an explantation on why I prefer
Basketball to Rugby, I shouldn't have to feel embarrassed or
explain to a Cd store clerk, why I love country music.

It's my choice, Im kiwi born and bred and I love America,
that should be enough.

Americans living in NewZealand shouldn't have to say sorry
for being American, they shouldn't have to put up with
racial abuse, they shouldn't have to put up with people
stereotyping them.

Americans living here are just as much as part of our
culture as immigrants from Samoa, England, Iran or
anywhere from around the planet.

So lets celebrate our American friends and their culture
as they celebrate our ways also, they are a unique, happy and
very generous people, long may they keep
coming to our country.

Gary Busey The Apprentice

That crazy Gary Busey is currently on New
Zealand TV screens in The Apprentice.

Gary who suffered a brain injury in 1988, is
doing all sorts of crazy stuff on the Apprentice,
just like in his acting days. Of course the editors
of the programme are trying to make him out
to be more crazy than he is, but it seems the
viewers are getting laughs out of his crazy antics.

Gary is showing the usual behavior patterns of
someone who is brain injured, he may look vacant,
he may say something that has nothing to do with the
conversation or the task that is going on, he may be
short tempered, but his heart's in the right place.

I say, he has the right to go on a reality show and he
has the right to have his say, we shouldn't laugh at him
we should laugh with him, we should celebrate his
differences, the guy cheated death, he should be
applauded.

Stand up and cheer him on, listen to Randy Newman's
classic song, "I'm Different" and think of Gary.

He is not a bully, he doesn't have a ego, he is just
Gary!

Lets hope there is a little bit of Gary Busey in all of
us.

We could all do with a bit of crazy in our life's.

New Zealand 275/3 Day One

The Blackcaps had a great day of the first test
against Zimbabwe, scoring 275/3 with Marty Guptill
scoring a test century.

The only sour note was Jess Ryder (Pictured), opps
I mean Brendan McCullum playing on with only 14
runs to his name.

The pitch is playing flat and slow, and there shouldn't be
any reason at all for New Zealand to make less than
500 runs, then it will be up to the magic of Vettori, to
spin us to victory.

The stage is set on day 2 for Taylor not only to get
his century, but a double century.

Fingers and toes are crossed.

Time will tell.

Phil Goff Debate Disaster

The first debate between Labour Leader Phil Goff and
Prime Minister John Key took place tonight, and Phil
Goff made some huge tactical mistakes.

He had to lose his wimpy image while sticking to the
issues, he went about it the wrong way. In interviews
before this debate, he said he wont play the person
but he will stick to labour policies.

He did the opposite, every time Prime Minister John
Key talked, Goff interrupted him and attacked him and
National. Key remained cool and calm thruout, and gave
out stats and hard data for his view point.

One may even say, Key Played Goff perfectly, he went
fishing, Goff bit, and Key reeled him in with calm answers.

I'm not a political person, but Key's ideas seem better,
and Goff came across as old Labour.

It wasn't a huge knockout, 60-40 to Key I would say,
but it could of been a lot better for the people of
New Zealand if Goff had of known, how to debate.

He doesn't.

Round one to National.

They are looking like a two term Government.

Time will tell.

Jesse Ryder Injured Again

Do you think that perhaps if you actually trained during
the off season instead of eating a ton of McNuggets.
you might of avoided injury.

Shame on NewZealand cricket, for offering this guy
a contract, shame on New Zealand cricket for
giving Ryder so many one last chances.

Also shame on the public for thinking it's a bit of
a laugh having an out of shape sportsperson in
our national team.

I'm kinda guessing Ryder will be injured for a long time,
then when the ICL comes around, he will be fit again, and
will ask NZ Cricket for another contract.

He doesn't deserve one.

Lets hope he has played his last match for his country.

NBA No Full Season BUT...

There won't be a full regular 82 game season, BUT
there will be an NBA season, players, owners, and
the NBA itself are ready to sign on the dotted line, after
123 days of negotiation.

Basketball fans can rejoice and an announcement will be
made this week with the season starting in December.
How's that for a Christmas present to global sporting
fans!!!

The season may be a sixty game season, which means
not a long on harm has been done to the world's second
most popular sport.

Again, I cannot wait, the players must be itching to get
back into action, I know the fans are!!!!

Roll on December!!!

NBA SEASON TO BE SAVED!

The 2011/2012 NBA season is to be saved. A deal is about
to be reached, this means the season will go ahead.

Dirk has reason to be happy and so do all the rest of the
International stars of Basketball in the world's second most
popular sport.

With the Olympics coming up next year also, it will be great
that the players will get to play in the league in the world as
a buildup.

With now over 100 international players in the NBA this
comp has a truly global reach, that other sports outside
Football can only dream about.

So get ready for King Lebron and Dirk, get ready for the
most alethic sports stars on the planet. The NBA is back.

The announcement should be made on Thursday/Friday.

A Twit on Twitter

I was once having a conversation with someone
about Twitter and I told them, that Jesse Ryder
(New Zealand Cricket Player) was on Twitter.

This person then said "Ah a Twit on Twitter"

I cracked up laughing.

But it got me thinking, why are famous people
on twitter?? For years we have heard about
cases of privacy, famous people getting their
phones hacked or their emails hacked, but
now all their private messages to one and other
are there out in the open.

It's bizarre, why would you do this? why if your
a famous actor or sport star or singer or even just
known to the public would you send tweets out
to other famous people? Is it to get back at the
Paparazzi, are you trying to make them obsolete?

I can understand the public using Twitter, who has
time to send out a dozen emails a day to let people
know what you are doing? You might as well just
write a 140 character message on Twitter.

Also the public seem to be using this in the hope
that their favorite actor or singer will tweet them.
There was a case of one blogger called Boganette
who pretended to be furious when Stephen Fry
replied to one of her tweets and overnight she
had thousands of people adding her, I would say
she wasn't actually furious, she would of been
delighted.

So in terms of the public, it's like the autograph
or attention seeker, they are dying for that
one tweet from someone they admire, and you
know if that makes their day, then good on them.

In terms of famous people, it's all about increasing
their fanbase, its the age of story, "you aren't judge by
who you are, but by who you sit next to"

How long will Twitter last? Im not sure? But I do
know if companies try to mass market on it, that will
surly be the death of it.

Catherine Tate joins "The Office"

Every fan of The Office has had their worse
fears realized, with the news today that Catherine
Tate will be joining the cast of the office.

Catherine Tate is a British stand up comedian
who appeared in last season's finale, thankfully
at that point the producers of the Office, didn't
hire her for the Ceo role, now played by the
brilliant James Spader as Robert California.

But executive producer Paul Liberstein, who also
plays Toby, in what has to be regarded as the
biggest Toby move in history has asked her to
join the cast, can you imagine what Michael
Scott will be saying right now!!!

Tate may be funny in a stand up situation, but her
forced lines, her Z grade attemps to be a
Michael Scott, comes off as annoying rather
than "funny annoying"

What the hell has gone wrong with the American
Office now. I thought there was hope, Ed Helms's Andy
Bernard was a great choice to become new
office manager, and with Spader's California as
the CEO, the show couldn't miss.

Unfortunately two things have now gone wrong,
the Character of Jim has gone from the fun pranking
Jim to a sociopathic bully, his pranks aren't funny
he just comes across as a smug jerk and you find
yourself cheering for Dwight.

I pray that Catherine Tate's role in the show
isn't massive, because she will destroy it,
she could kill it, she could bring it down.

The Office didn't need her, the supporting cast, Kevin,
Creed, Angela, Oscar, Meredith Phillis, Gabe
could of kept this thing running, while the writers
sort out the Jim Issue.

Instead they have gone with her, and I'm kinda
guessing this could be the last season of the
office.

I hope I'm wrong.

Time will tell.

Gaddafi is Dead

The brutal dictator and torturer and murderer is
dead. The ruler of Libya was captured and killed
by rebels.

This post is not about the politics of it all, and if he
should've been kept alive. I know zero about the
politics of Middle Eastern/African nations.

This post is about the reaction to his death by some
left wing bloggers.

Anjum Rahman wrote a piece on how no one deserves
to die, and even through he was a dictator this was wrong and
suggested that he was with his God now. She also went
on to say she had a vision of world peace and everybody
living in a just and prosperous world. She also stated that
no matter what someone has done, no one deserves to
die.

Nice sentiments she has though questioned
people commemorating 9/11 (and listed some USA
policies of the past decades), while not commentating other
tragic events.

The folks on the blog the standard suggested that 9/11
was part of a plan to Invade Iran.

Not sure how anyone can come to this conclusion, IMHO
you must have a real chip on your shoulder about the USA
to think like this.

Here's hoping the people of Libya can move on to be a
free country.

Modern Family: "Go Bullfrogs" Review

Modern Family just gets better and better and better.

Tonight's episode was titled "Go Bullfrogs" and revolved
around Phil taking Haley to visit his Alma mater and
other colleges. The side stories were Claire going
out with Mitch and Cam on a boys night out and
Gloria and Jay worried about how fast Manny is
growing up.

It's amazing how this show is funnier and funnier as
each episode goes on, and for me, it's Phil that
makes this show, he is the heart and soul of it,
his interaction with his kid is spot on, and a
big hats off to the child actors who unlike
other Tv programmes, are the age that they
are playing, and this is one of the reasons
Modern Family works.

Highlights of tonight's episode were Phil
high fiving someone then Haley told him
he's just shielding his eyes from the sun,
Phil dancing with the cheerleaders and his
interaction with Haley.

Jay's "It's Spanish for big hair and yelling" line
had me in stitches. Also Cam's "Pick a
side of the room lady" will go down as
a classic.

Manny trying to make himself taller was
more thrown in there, but I did like Jay
ending up liking the Spanish show.

Claire was good, you had to feel sorry for her,
although I thought she may of guessed the
guy was straight.

Mitch and Cam were their usual funny themselves,
the part when the car got attacked seemed more
scary than funny at one moment.

This episode though belonged to Phil and Haley,
again the tender and funny moment near the end
is what makes Modern Family, real and special,
he is the poster child for what all dads should be
like with their daughters.

For myself, I hope they never lose this aspect of the
show.

Ten out of Ten.

Why an All Blacks win would Kill New Zealand Sport

(The All Blacks are the nickname of New Zealand's
National Rugby team)

If the All Blacks win the Rugby World Cup, the country
will celebrate like crazy, we will be happy for months
and months on end, and New Zealanders
deserve to celebrate after the year we have had.

In saying this though, in the long run an All Blacks
victory will kill New Zealand sport, it will be the
death of sport in this country and we will never
recover.

Rugby is our national sport, which is good if your
a rugby fan, but unlike other countries national sports,
Rugby has a habit of walking all over every other sport
to a point where if you say you like another sport over
Rugby, or don't follow the All Blacks that closely, you
are likely to be physically assaulted.

We have always been told wrongly, that the All Blacks
are loved thru out the world and even last night, Mark
Watson made one of the most factually incorrect statements
yet, by saying the All Blacks are the greatest team in
the history of world sport, a bold thing to say considering
90% of the world has never heard of the All Blacks.

But lets get back to the death of New Zealand sport,
the media, the likes of Brendan Telfer and Andrew
Saville for some reason tell the NewZealand public
that these All Blacks have the speed of world class
sprinters, could change codes (not just rugby league)
and fit into any other national team.

What an insult to our track and field runners, our
Basketballers, our footballers, that thanks to the
media, the public think just because someone is
an All Black they must be better at anything that
any other sports person does.

You could walk down the street and ask
100 people who are faster?, The All Blacks
or the New Zealand four by 100 relay team
and I'm guessing 95% of people would say
The All Blacks, you could ask any NewZealander
could the All Blacks make the NFL and they
would answer yes, heck you could ask them
could the All Blacks make the NBA and they
would answer yes.

What an insult this is to the New Zealanders
who actually played Basketball and American
Football and have made the NFL and NBA and what a insult
to our track team.

Take a look, when overseas sports stars come
to New Zealand, the first thing the media asks
them is "What do you think of the All Blacks?"

Take a look at the history of our country, kids
getting the cane at school because they want to play
Rugby league or Soccer instead of Rugby Union.

This is where we are at now and always have
been, if we win the 2011 world cup, it will be
a thousand times worse, and it will kill NewZealand
sport.

Funding for sports deemed to be in competition with
Rugby Union, (Basketball, Football, Rugby League,
Track and Field, Swimming) will be cut by Sparc.

Schools will only pour money into Rugby Union,
no other kid no matter how talented will get a look
in, and generations of sporting talent will be lost.

The media will again try to totally ignore achievements
by other codes, and it will be continue to be drummed into
us that the All Blacks could make the switch to any sport
and be better.

There will be be meetings with media giants that they
arent to focus on any sport that could take public
attention away, less and less sports will be covered,
thus sport will die a slow and painful death.

Every sponsor will try and align with the sport
of Rugby Union and the money will dry up.

If an All Black has a brush with the law,
it will be swept under carpet, if a player from
another code's has a brush with the law, he will be called
a villain.

Like I said this is happening now, but if The All
Blacks win the Rugby World Cup, this will
increase to such a level that sport in this
country will die, and it will only be the All
Blacks that will ever get any sort of praise
or coverage or sponsorship that is needed
to keep a sport alive.

At the beginning of this post, I said an All
Blacks victory will be great for the country
after the shocking year NewZealand has
had, it will make people happy and give
people some wonderful memories, it's
just too bad it comes with a much heavier
price.

What would Scooby do?

I'm breaking a golden rule here, and writing
about a wee incident that happened. So there
I was walking my dog in a park, that in a few
weeks wont be a park anymore, it will be a
new sewer system. This park has also become
a dumping ground for the city's liquefaction, it's
some nasty stuff, which is best not breathed in.

Anyway, I was txting away, while walking my dog
on a lead, (this park says you have to have your dog
on a lead BTW) when this rather little yapping dog
which wasn't on a lead ran over to say hi, this dog
then ran off to play in the liquefaction, a couple of
minutes later I saw a couple of kids playing in the
stuff.

Well I thought it's not my place to say anything to
the lady with the dog and the kids, even though
her kids were putting their health at risk by
playing in the liquefaction and her dog was all
over the place, so I walked on.

I heard a very aggressive scream, I turned around and
she said to me "Hey you, are you going to pick up your
dog's mess, it will make it a better experience for all of
us"

Now it wasn't what she said, but the way she said it, in
a manner that she had some sort of superiority complex.
I wanted to say "Your dog is suppose to be on a lead
and your not suppose to let your kids play in liquefaction"

Having no backbone I didn't and just said, "sure" and walked
off.

Now who was wrong or right, is not the point.

What I would like to know is, why do some people feel
the need to share their opinion with me? I mean people
I don't know telling me their opinion, have they got nothing
better to do with their day? Are they lacking something?
Or is it me?

I would get ripped into for saying this, if people
actually commented on my blog, but why is it
always the same, the people who have to give me
their opinion on something is always Middle aged
woman.

I may not be doing anything bad, not swearing, not
being a jerk, just going about my daily business, but
it's a common occurrence, that middle aged woman
who don't me have to give me their opinion.

Is Jim Halpert a Sociopath?

Is Jim Halpert a Sociopath?

That is the question I'm asking myself, after the latest
episode of the Office.

Have the writers being leading us to believe, that he is
just this nice guy slacker who loves pulling pranks on
his fellow coworkers, only to fool us sometime in the
future with an episode that will shock.

If so, they are taking their time because The Office has
been going on for eight seasons.

Take a look at Jim's behavior thruout the years, he started
playing pranks on Dwight, if Dwight did something he
deemed to be stupid, he then played pranks to
impress Pam, now that he has his family and is happy
with his lot in life , he still seems to be trying to make life
hell for his fellow coworkers.

So what is the behavior of a sociopath?

Well according to the Statistical manual of disorders,
a Sociopath has these traits.

Pervasive pattern of disregard for and violation of
the rights of others.

Failure to conform to social norms.

Deception or conning others for pleasure.

Consistent irresponsibility at work.

A Lack of remorse.

Does this sound like anyone to you? To me it
sums up Jim Halpert.

Take a look over the years his treatment of Dwight
for his own enjoyment. From hiding his desk in a
bathroom, from locking him into his own workspace,
paying coworkers to call him another name, stealing
his personal property, staring, physical assaults, the
list goes on and on.

This current season he is even starting to undermine
Andy in office meetings, there is a constant harassment
of anyone he deems to be inferior or not doing a good
job.

The Garden Party episode was awful, when Andy set up a
Garden Party to impress his parents, and his new
boss Robert California, he hired Dwight to run it,
when Jim Halpert found this out, the lengths he
went to was absurd, he wrote a book, published
one copy, sold it to Dwight under another name,
just so he could laugh at Dwight as Dwight did
all the wrong things.

Jim didn't think how it would ruin Andy's party or Dwight's
business, he only thought of his own pleasure, and
isn't that what a sociopath does???

Don't get me wrong, I loved the early Jim, I laughed
and cried when he finally got together with Pam, but
lately, Im changing my mind about him, maybe it
started when Pam had her first kid, and Jim was
at a happy and content place, so there should be
no need to give it to his coworkers?

I hope the writers of The Office are going somewhere
this, I hope they are trying to show the viewers a
pattern of behavior, that even though we are suppose
to love Jim as a prankster, what he is doing is actually
wrong and maybe just maybe they will do an episode
where they will truly shock every office fan.

It would make for great television and go down
in history, I only hope the writers have the courage
to do it, but I anit holding my breath.

The Office: "Garden Party" Review

The latest episode of the Office, "Garden Party"
may of been an Andy episode as he tried to impress
his boss and his parents, but once again, I was left
with the feeling of how much I now dislike Jim Halpert.

For six seasons and most of the seventh season, I cheered
him on with his war with Dwight, thinking Dwight deserved
it, but now I feel sorry for Dwight and I'm actually thinking
that is he a victim of Jim's bullying.

I'm not sure if this is a long term plan or a injoke with the writers,
but as the viewers, are we suppose to turn against Jim?

Jim going to the trouble to write a book about
Garden parties was actually cruel and it wasn't a case
of Jim trying to make Pam laugh or teach him a
lesson, it was a case of harassment, he didnt
even think how this would effect Andy's party, I can only
hope that they are going somewhere with this,
because they need to for the sake of the Jim/Dwight
storyline, if they want to tell the viewer what a great
guy Jim is, well this is the wrong way to go about it.

Anyway back to the episode itself, it was great to
see them out of the office environment, and this episode
showed the kindness and tryhard attitude of the Nard dog,
I always thought Andy should play a bigger role and it
seems like he is going to, the rest of the cast didn't have
much to do, apart from a few liners and a few scenes
although those scenes were classic, the billboards getting defaced,
Gabe's reaction to Andy stealing his idea, Kevin putting his
fingers to the waiters face, poor Toby having his card driven
through the corn field, Dwight's little dance.

James Spader's Robert California once again gave an
amazing speech which made me think of Boston Legal.

It was great to see at the end of the episode, Darryl and
Oscar offering Andy a beer and burger to make up for
his awful day.

All in All it was better than last week, and hopefully the
rest of the season will get better and better.

Hey Telfer it's been 3 years, where's my answer?

It's been around three years since I put a question
to Brendan Telfer, and I'm still waiting for an answer, I've tried
everything, contacting radio sport, letters to newspapers,
contacting TVNZ and Sky, contacting any news
organization he has belong to, contacting other
journos he has worked with, I even joined up
to his facebook page, "The Brendan Telfer Experience"

On his facebook page, I had a long conversation
with his editor and ask my question several times,
the editor avoided the question like the plague,
and basically stated well it's Brendan opinion.

I thought that was a cop out, I know it's his
opinion, that is why I asked the question, but
the question has never been answered and it's
been three years, so I will ask it one last time,
I just hope Brendan has the integrity as a
Journalist to finally answer.

"Brendan you stated after the Kiwis won the
League World Cup and I quote "The Rugby
League World Cup is Worthless" and that
is why you wouldn't vote for them to be
nominated for a Halberg.

Yet you voted for the Silver Ferns a
few years back and they won it.

Isn't that Hypocritical of you, since Netball
and Rugby League are similar in size globally,
and also why haven't you ever called The Netball
World Champs worthless because of their size like
you did with Rugby League?

I anit holding my breath for an answer.

NBA Season Loses Two Weeks

David Stern did the only thing he could do. He has
canceled the first two weeks of the new NBA season.

Negotiations are actually making headway, but there
was no way that the season could of started on time,
the Basketball wouldn't be on level expected from one
of the most watched sports comps on the face of the
planet.

Now the serious business of saving the season can get
underway, with no worries about the early November
start.

I will make a prediction that the season will be saved
with only two weeks lost, the players and the owners
and the NBA will get what they want.

Most importantly so will the fans.

Roll on the new season.

Breakers Win

The New Zealand Breakers have won back
to back matches on the road to start off the
Australian NBL in perfect fashion, going to
2-0 in the opening weekend.

If anyone thought the NZ Breakers would
struggle without Kirk Penny, well they will
be changing their minds after a complete
team performance.

Last night's victory over the Hawkes, showed
they play a complete team game, with CJ Burton
banging in threes at all the right moments, American
import Cedric Jackson top scoring with 28 points
being supported by Wilkinson and Vukona who
both had solid games.

To shot a stunning 56% from the floor, sent a strong
message to the rest of the league, that we may of
lost a star this season in Kirk Penny but we have
a whole team of players stepping up.

What got me about the games was, they looked like
a team that was getting ready for the playoffs, a team
that had played for months, they weren't rusty at
all, they must of done a hell of a lot of work in
the off season.

Back to Back titles???

Time will tell.

Corey Jane Caught Drinking and Smoking

New Zealand All Black, Corey Jane has been
caught drinking heavily and smoking in a bar
just three days out from the quarterfinal against
Argentina at the rugby world cup he was with
fellow All Black Israel Dagg

Too me this sums up how far behind the rest
of the professional sporting world Rugby is.

The media cannot wash their hands of this, and
I'm not writing this from any moral stance on
drinking and smoking, I'm writing this because I
know what other sporting codes go through.

Take Sean Marks's career as an NBA player,
he was a bench player for the Spurs, he got
maybe a half dozen minutes a game at his peak,
during the NBA finals series, when he wasnt needed
as a player but just a squad member, he spent every
possible minute trying to get his team the championship
ring, there is no way in hell three days out from a
playoff game he would be drinking and smoking.

I'm kinda guessing the New Zealand media is
going through their usual BS, saying it does
no harm and that Colin Meads did it after a
days work on the farm.

Well I'm sorry but Colin Meads played an amateur
sport in the 1960's, where you could of gotten away
with it.

It's the year 2011 and the average NZ sporting fan
(thanks to our media) is so behind the times, they
probably think it's okay that professional sports players
drink and smoke before a big event, but it anit.

Sport science is multi billion dollar industry for a
reason, the top global sports in the world uses
sport scientists because they know the difference
they can make in performance.

Rugby in New Zealand has shown how far behind
they really are, and how much they have to catch
up to the professionalism of the NBA and NFL
and the top swimmers and rowers of the world,
it's too bad our media will never tell you this, and
its sad that the public still think a few beers or
cigarettes will never hurt you before a game, well
it can make the difference between winning and
losing, it seems someone forgot to tell the All
Blacks this.
